Experimental Academy: Successful Promotion of Young Researchers
The experimental academy is a cooperation between the Institute for Organic Chemistry of the University of Bremen and the companies Bruker Daltonik GmbH and OMNILAB-LABORZENTRUM GmbH & Co. KG. The aim is to utilise knowledge and contacts of these enterprises for the university, as well. In this context, OMNILAB offers regular workshops to students, referring to the topics photometry and chromatography – each with comprehensive theoretical and practical parts.
’We considered how to provide targeted assistance to the university and its students’, stated Joachim Jürgens, OMNILAB managing director.
’In dialogue with the transfer office of the university, Prof. Dr. Franz-Peter Montforts (University of Bremen) as well as Prof. Dr. Herbert Thiele (Bruker), this model developed. And our success proves us right! Students who participated in the programme gave us a very positive feedback.
Other educational institutions are also interested in our workshops.’ ‘These courses are integrated in our chemistry seminars and are a welcome complement to university lectures’, Prof. Dr. Montforts adds.
